The Truth behind the Lies

THE

PERFECTION

OF

BEAUTY…

Another poem about pop culture

When this poem is done i’m gonna blame society for the way i’ve been taught to think,

for the way I’ve expressed myself with words through ink,

for making me sell my soul for chicken and some blue drink,

metaphorically of course, knocked me off course as my ship’s forced to sink,

See i didn’t grow up with a father figure like huxtable to relate to,

see i grew up to hate school,

see there was no one to explain to,

cause you know uncles was locked up and mama worked late too,

i grew up to be a failure,

no one was there to mold me and to tailor,

i had dreams of being a sailor, i had work ethic and endeavor,

But the ONLY reason i chose this path, the only reason i couldn’t pass math,

the only reason i’m on this route, the only reason i lost this bout,

the only reason i live so reckless, the only reason i stole that necklace,

the only reason i move crack, the only reason i shoot back,

the only reason i’m in this court room, the only reason i speak so subtle!

This is another poem about pop culture

Why feed us lies like “the white man got you down” why feed us lies like the white man run the town, why feed us lies like the white man ain’t reached out! Why feed us lies when your pride done left us out why feed us lies!

You tryna spark a change my man you causing hate, you tryna blame the game my man then why you playing,

This is another poem about brothers and how the caucasian controls our subconscious and keeps us out the caucus, holding on to slavery as if it hurt us, looking for a scape goat as if its not us…

My brother i feel your pain, daddy left and mama got bills to pay,

but that’s supposed to make you, you let it maim you,

that should build character, you made it a disaster,

that should’ve been your spark, you turned it into dark,

that was what it takes, but you made it a mistake

So don’t tell me…!!
Don’t tell me nothing!
Don’t tell me you had it worse than others, not all white men give orders
Don’t tell me you made a few blunders, you put your own life asunder
Don’t tell me who caused it, that’s gossip
Don’t tell me your story, this would’ve been your glory

I’m not dissapointed in you my man its quite typical
You got assaulted by life my man you grew cynical
But you could’ve redirected the pain so critical
cured the projected diseases in the projects my man, so clinical

Its not fail you did though cause you fit in
You played the hand you were dealt and you didnt win
But a bigger disease is mediocrity it should be a sin
You got a king and a queen and you ain’t “all it in”???!
The pass was thrown in your face man but you ain’t haul it in

This is another poem about pop culture,
They say the white man feeds on us like vultures
They say they set in a place a structure to judge us
They say they put the obstacles to budge us

Its the white man fault a brother robs a another at gun point
Leave his family exposed and his funds lost
Its the white man fault a brother sell rocks to make it
You never applied for a job to pay bills
But your tats and not so distant past of crime make it hard anyways
The white man did that he made you do the things you did every day
Its the white man’s fault Nigeria in a turmoil
Haiti ain’t had no father so they have no infrastructure
Brazil is a drug nest cause mama worked too much to stay home
Africa’s underdeveloped cause they weren’t given hope

Its the white man fault these artists sell they souls
Its the white man fault that our young men kill for soles?!
All they say is industry
My man find a synonym
You think you speak the truth give me facts not some history.

The white man took the oil,
The white man took the spoils
The white man is at fault for all the wrongs
Man is the white man God?!

This is another poem about pop culture
Hows this for some facts
99% of yall who hear this will go right back..
To the same old way of life cause you fixed in your ways like sculptures.

Seven Principles for Friday!

Keep pressing forward: Shake off the past, let go of negative mindsets and recognize that God has good things in store for you. Recognize your “royal bloodline” and be aware that the decisions you make today will affect future generations as well as your own life.

Be positive toward yourself: Don’t be trapped by past mistakes; instead, start fresh by repeating positive affirmations and faith-filled words and maintaining a positive inner dialogue.

Develop better relationships: Help other people by encouraging them and looking for ways to be a blessing to others. Be determined to keep strife out of your home, invest in personal relationships and make all those you encounter feel important.

Form better habits: Create a routine that includes exercise and daily reading of the Bible. Become aware of negative habits and replace them with positive habits. Don’t let others distract you from your goals, and realize that you are not responsible for everyone’s happiness.

Embrace the place where you are: Turn your situation over to God, and look for glimpses of His goodness in everyday life.

Develop your inner life: Become aware of the people you spend your time with, and how they influence your life. Listen to the voice inside yourself; don’t make excuses —get down to the root of your problems.

Stay passionate about life: Look for ways to stay passionate about life, maintain your positivity and appreciation for God’s blessings. Do the right thing with the right motives, constantly look for ways to improve your life, and choose to go from believing to expecting.
